Gram Panchayat is the organization of elected panchs (ward members) by the members of Gram Sabha of the village. It is a self-government organization. The head of the Panchayat is known as "Sarpanch". The Gram Panchayat has a Secretary who is also the Secretary of the Gram Sabha.
