Other classes say “more confident”. We show you the number.

Parents pay for English classes and rarely know how much their child has actually improved. FluentUp tracks three measures and shares every one of them with you.

  • Measured every term

    Lexile, for reading

How complex a text your child can read with real understanding. We use the same number to choose every book they read.

  • Measured every month

    CEFR, for speaking

The international A1 to C1 scale used by universities and employers. Recorded samples are scored for fluency, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary.

  • Measured every month

    Writing rubric

Ideas, organisation, grammar, vocabulary and voice, each scored 1 to 5, so you can watch writing improve piece by piece.

Four programmes. Placed by level, not by age.

A Class 6 child reading at 450L starts where they will actually learn, then climbs.

Ages 4 to 8, KG to Class 3

Who is the Level Check for?

Questions parents ask

A number that places reading ability and text difficulty on one scale, from BR (beginning reader) to above 1400L. Schools around the world use it to match readers to the right books. A higher number means your child understands more complex text.
No. It is not a pass or fail mark. It shows where your child reads today, so we can choose books that stretch them without losing them, and show you the growth term by term.
Reading circles, debates and book talks need other voices. Groups of 4 to 6 learners at the same level give that, for a lower fee. One-to-one is available for every programme.
Yes. The Level Check asks about your child’s mother tongue, and our coaches are trained to support bilingual learners in every city, large or small.
Two live classes of 40 to 60 minutes, plus 15 to 20 minutes of reading on most days. The daily reading habit drives most of the growth.
