"Who Did Patrick's Homework?" is a short story by Carol Moore in the Class 6 NCERT English Textbook (Honeysuckle), Chapter 1.
- Patrick hated doing homework and found a tiny elf (little man) whom he saved from his cat
- As a reward, the elf granted Patrick one wish Patrick wished for the elf to do all his homework
- The elf agreed but knew nothing about school subjects, so Patrick had to fetch books, look up dictionaries, and guide the elf through every assignment
- In doing so, Patrick effectively taught himself he did all the real learning
Moral: There are no shortcuts to learning the effort invested in helping others learn ultimately educates oneself.
