Which metal conducts electricity most efficiently and why?
Silver is the most efficient conductor of electricity among all metals.
This is because silver has a very high number of free electrons and offers minimal resistance to the flow of electric current. Its atomic structure allows electrons to move more easily compared to other metals, resulting in excellent electrical conductivity.
However, despite being the best conductor, silver is not commonly used in electrical wiring due to its high cost. Instead, copper is widely used as a practical alternative because it provides high conductivity at a much lower cost.
