Short-sightedness or near-sightedness or Myopia

• A human eye is myopic if it can see the near objects clearly but unable to see far off objects or distant objects clearly.

Causes of Myopia: This defect arises due to either by

• the elongation of the eye ball or
• the excessive curvature of the cornea.
