Verified Answer

PQ = 1/2 AB = 1/2 × 14 = 7 cm

PQRS is a square with each side 7 cm

Radius of each circle 7/2 cm

Area of the quadrants of each circle 1/4× πr²

Area of the four quadrants of all circles

=4×1/4 πr²=πr²=22/7 × 7/2 × 7/2

=77/2 cm² = 38.5 cm²

Area of the square PQRS = Side × Side = 7 cm × 7 cm = 49 cm2

Area of the shaded portion = 49 cm2 – 38.5 cm2 = 10.5 cm2

Hence, the required area = 10.5 cm2.
