Question
Class 11MathematicsRelations and Functions

If (x – y, x + y) = (0, 2), find x and y.

Verified Answer

The corresponding elements become equal as the ordered pair are equal.

Therefore, xy = 0                      …(i)

                  x + y = 2                     …(ii)

Solving (i) and (ii), we get  x = 1, y = 1
