Why is Vinoba Bhave famous?

Vinoba Bhave is famous for leading the Bhoodan Movement (1951) walking thousands of kilometers across India to persuade landowners to donate land to the landless poor. He was Gandhi's closest disciple and the first individual winner of the Ramon Magsaysay Award (1958).
