What is dialysis?
Dialysis is a medical process used to remove waste products, excess salts, and extra water from the blood when the kidneys are not functioning properly.
In this process, a machine acts like an artificial kidney by filtering the blood and maintaining the body’s chemical balance.
Blood is taken from the body, purified through a special filter, and then returned to the body. This helps remove harmful substances such as urea that would normally be eliminated by healthy kidneys.
Dialysis is commonly used for patients suffering from kidney failure or severe kidney disorders.
Although it does not completely replace kidney function, dialysis helps maintain life and supports normal body functioning.
