What happens if we do not eat healthy food?
If we do not eat healthy food, our body may not receive the essential nutrients required for energy, growth, immunity, and proper functioning. Poor eating habits can lead to weakness, low energy levels, poor growth, and health problems.
A diet lacking important nutrients such as proteins, vitamins, and minerals can affect body development and reduce the ability to fight diseases. Long-term deficiency of nutrients may cause deficiency diseases such as night blindness, scurvy, rickets, anaemia, and goitre.
Eating too much junk food or highly processed food can increase the intake of unhealthy fats, excess sugar, and salt while providing fewer useful nutrients. This may lead to unhealthy weight gain and other lifestyle-related problems.
Healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, cereals, pulses, milk products, nuts, and seeds provide the nutrients needed to keep the body active and strong.
Eating a balanced diet with carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, dietary fibre, and water helps maintain proper growth, better immunity, and overall health.
