What are the types of cells?
Cells can be classified into two main types based on their structure and complexity: prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells.
Prokaryotic cells are simple and do not have a well-defined nucleus or membrane-bound organelles. Their genetic material is present freely in the cytoplasm. Examples include bacteria and some microorganisms.
Eukaryotic cells are more complex and have a well-defined nucleus along with membrane-bound organelles such as mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, and Golgi apparatus. These cells are found in plants, animals, fungi, and protists.
This classification helps in understanding the organization and functioning of different living organisms at the cellular level.
