Verified Answer

Given:

  • C.V. (1st distribution) = 50
  • σ1 = 25
  • C.V. (2nd distribution) = 60
  • σ2 = 15

Let x̄1 and x̄2 be the means of 1st and 2nd distributions.

For the 1st distribution:

C.V. = (σ1 / x̄1) × 100

50 = (25 / x̄1) × 100

x̄1 = (25 / 50) × 100 = 50

For the 2nd distribution:

C.V. = (σ2 / x̄2) × 100

60 = (15 / x̄2) × 100

x̄2 = (15 / 60) × 100 = 25

Therefore:

  • Arithmetic mean of 1st distribution = 50
  • Arithmetic mean of 2nd distribution = 25
