How does a series circuit differ from a parallel circuit?

A series circuit has all its components connected in a single path, so the same current flows through all components. If one component fails, the entire circuit stops working. In contrast, a parallel circuit has multiple paths for current to flow. If one path fails, the other paths can still operate, allowing the circuit to continue functioning.
